How do you feel about skateboarding?
I feel pretty good about it; where its been, where its going. This pretty much sums up how I feel, actually:
I often try to explain how "skateboarding is not a sport" (as the great Consolidated Skateboards put it); that it is much more than just competition. However, I find it difficult to differentiate from other sports in the passion and the heart. But, as it stands competitively, it is impossible to say it is equal to any other sport. If there is anything even close to skateboarding's competitive aspect, it would be the NBA's Slam Dunk contests. Think about it. A bunch of people get together, have fun, and do what they do best. They try new things. They think outside their comfort zone. They show their hidden talent. Most importantly, they talk to each other about their dunks, and feed off of each other's attempts. It's how skateboarding works.
Check out Air Jordan...Siiiiickkkkk!
